5:00 PM  –  8:00 PM

We’re still feeling the love from Valentine’s Day, so let’s explore the science of attraction – well, magnetism. Check out magnetizing hands-on activities, such as the Van de Graff Generator, magnetic hairstyles, a magnetic putty tub fun and a special magnet activity for our youngest scientists, 5 and under! We’ll also dissect a sheep heart in honor of the heart-themed holiday. Explore three floors of exhibits and then head to The Dome for special all-live Cosmic Expeditions at 6:30 and 7:15 pm; space is limited to the first 250 guests at each show, no ticket required. Stick around for a showing of Ghostbusters II (rated PG) at 8 pm. After the shows, step outside to stargaze through telescopes with the Richmond Astronomical Society, weather permitting.

Science After Dark admission is $10 for the general public and free for Museum members and college students with a valid ID. Admission includes exhibits and event programming. Guests can add the feature film in the Dome for $5.

Members: please visit Guest Services to purchase tickets (or use a Dome pass) for the feature film.
